Did you know there is a New York State Motorists Bill of Rights pertaining to Auto Insurance claims? The insurance comapnies' TV ads don't mention them. A few of your rights include: 1. To have someone designated by you to represent you on any damage claim. 2. You don't have to take your car to the insurance company's drivein claim center. 3. You may take your car to the body shop of your choice. The insurance company must send their appraiser to the repair shop you prefer. 4. It is illegal for any insurance company to recommend a specific body shop. 5. You have a right to get paid the list price for any parts needed to repair your car -- not a discounted price as paid by some drive-in claim centers when you don't have representation. Remember .... the next time your car is damaged, don't lose time or money by dealing directly with an insurance company. Contact Tom Russo at Collisionville first, and he will represent you and see that your rights are protected.
